Meet my constants

That is, here's a post about my room and my friends so far. :)

So, tomorrow afternoon is the 1 week anniversary of my arriving in Ireland! For this occassion, I though I would make a special post about how my room looks right now (and will probably for the rest of the semester) and who my Ireland-friends currently are. As I had only two lectures and zero tutorials so far, I did not really have the opportunity to make new friends, so this is a rather short list but having them around every day I actually feel like we've known each other for much longer...

Meet my friends!

As of now, I seem to have 6 friends here, all of them girls. There are two Hungarians and a French girl living in the same house as me, and there is a girl from Austria, one from the Czech Republic and one from Germany. I don't want to write much about them, I would rather let my pics talk for me, so here they are :)
Lena, Clémence, Eszter and me, waiting for the bus at the Cliffs of Moher :)

All of us but Krystina in one picture :)
Eszter crying over the onions...

Clémence and Lena waiting for me at the book shop

Clem, Lena and Vera all enjoying the view :)

At some bay, already kinda tired from the day

Lena gazing out at the bus window
Guess what a surprise it will be for her when she finds this pic! ;P

Eszter cooking a wonderfully delicious soup - she seems to be a really talented cook :D

Clémence cooking spaghetti carbonara (or what) :)

Meet my room!

My room is on the ground floor of a nice big house that has a huge green garden and a cute but sometimes kinda scary cat. I brought some decoration from home so it actually looks more cosy than you would expect (at least based on how little stuff we could actually take along from home in those two bags). Here's a vague list of the things that were already part of the room when I arrived:
  • a single bed
  • two paintings on the walls - they look really nice but not really my style
  • A locked door on one of my walls that would lead directly to the kitchen. Such a shame it is closed.
  • a nice wardrobe for my clothes, it even has mirrors on the doors, yay!
  • a black printer, not working
  • an ancient looking clock, kinda kitschy and in constant danger of my shoulders knocking it over
  • a useful bedside table with two huge drawers
  • a weird-looking sofa
  • the cat sitting all the time at my windowsill outside, meowing, pleading to be let in
  • a small desk with a chair
My big window and that stupid blind I can never get up
And the wonderful view I have from my room
My bed (with own sheets) and Bofink, the polar bear :)
The antique clock, the printer, and my working space
The sofa I mostly don't even use

Friday sitting at her usual spot
The bathroom upstairs

She sometimes freaks the hell out of me at night
